cranks but wont start

I just bought a 1983 kz1100ltd
we rode it around at the sellers place, loaded on the trailer and brought it home. I charged the battery and now it just cranks but wont start. Also as soon as i turn the key on the turn signals blink as if hazard lights were turned on. If anyone could tell me what I did wrong and how to repair it, I would appreciate it.

Is the kill switch in run position?

Gas in the tank? Petcock open? Choke lever pulled up?

When first cranking a cold engine, with the choke lever pulled up, be sure and leave the throttle closed. And be ready to gradually lessen the choke to prevent over reving.

yes the switch is set to run

it has something like a fuel advance is what the previous owner called it. he said it was something like a choke but not exactly the same

The "choke" lever is actually not a choke at all because it does not restrict air intake. It is a lever that engages the fuel enrichener circuit in the carbs which enrichens the mixture by adding extra fuel.

The "Choke" name stamp on the lever is just Ma Kaw's shorthand for "fuel enrichener circuit activator lever"

Whenever that happens on my bikes, and they have been sitting around for awhile, it usually means there's not enough gas in the float bowls. Then I set the petcock to PRIME until they start and return it to ON after starting.

If it still doesn't start after Oldankles tip, pull out one of your spark plugs one at a time and see if you have spark. You are in electrical anyways, not carb. So check for spark, and the condition of your sparkplugs. Also it eould be a good idea to get new plugs
