Armature wires

So I finally got the left cover off the bike (PB blaster and impact driver!), and went to disconnect the two armature wires from the nasty bowls of the sprocket area. Once I got the crap cleaned off 'em, one unplugged nicely - whilst the other is being a real PIA. I am nearly ready to just cut the wire, but thought I might post and ask for ideas (Already soaking in PB blaster) and possible hazards to cutting (Knowing I will have to solder on a new plug, or just solder together when I put it back).

i saw one pinched there once...we simply spliced in a new section of wire.. seemed to work fine.
