I am thinking the midrange is lean....try raising the needles up one notch (same as lowering the clip one) to give it a bit more fuel off idle.

Thanks for those suggestions, have checked all, and even
raised the needle with no joy.
Here are some pics of the carbs to assist all you
guys who know carbs a bit better than I do.
