want to pull/cut the stock mufflers/pipes and run straight pipes. got foam air cleaners. what size jets are needed for this modification. Is it necessary to make a holding bracket for the carb deck since the stock air box will be removed. any replies appreciated.

Two sizes up on jets. No carb hanger required. Man, are you going to be loud and obnoxious.

No baffle is deep and mellow? bwhaha that is one way to describe the noise I guess... The other day, I put a set of carbs on to sync them in anticipation of a road test. I hadn't noticed but the bolt that holds a baffle in (4 into 2) fell out and I blew the baffle out when I started the bike. So much deep and mellow scared the snot out of me hehe

I rode a 650 with a 4-1 and no baffle. None of my buds would ride on my right rear. Too loud. This meant I could not lead the group and had to ride on inside track of staggered formation. From my perspective is wasn't that loud either.

Phantom if your left muffler is in good shape and you'd like to sell I would be interested. my left one has a bad spot where acide ate off the chrome. Let me know how it sounds too. I think I will have to keep mine baffled if I get a 4-1 pipe.

I have a 4-1 Mac on my 1000 with no baffle. Hell yeah its loud and I love it! Trying to make it sound like a Harley? Not a chance. I simply like it loud and unobstructed!! I'll think about the playing cards and tin cans if I ever get that bored.
