Haven't seen float level mentioned. At 55 mph. the carbs are likely to be running in the transition zone from needle jet to main jet. Low fuel level will lean out both.

Welp, I figured it out!! Took the carbs off and low and behold one of the jets had came loose and was sitting in the bowl......put it back on and tightened it down .....problem solved...on to the main fuse blowing issue now. Thanks for all the help!
