Just bought a 1982 KZ750 LTD. Exhaust was shut, so bought a 4into1 with Vance and Hines muffler. Do I have to rejet or not? The carbs are stock right now : Pilot jet 35, primary main jet 62 and secondary main jet 125.
And if I go pod filters route (K&N), I read on this site a previous post from undiablo back in 2015, that the 750H with pod filters and 4into1 exhaust I should run 35, 70, 140. When I look at post, I keep hearing Dyno jet stages and they always have drill bits.. I"m not drilling anything on my carbs.
Any advise/explanation would be greatly appreciated.
JL
You may need to go up one or two sizes on the main, do not go the pod route as the carbs are CV's and don't run properly on pods, keep the stock airbox much less trouble time and money..

My 1980 750/4 E1 had K&N pods on it when I bought it in 2003. Like Undiablo I settled on 35, 70 and 140 for the jets. They are only a few $ each from Z1Enterprises. And I can confirm that the bike ran well with this setup .for several years ...... except for an awfull day in a downpour when it coughed and spluttered for 50km . I was lucky to make it home.
About 10 years ago I put an airbox on it and went back to stock jets except for the secondary main @ 130 for the 4 into 1 MAC which is now replaced by a Delkevic. I feel that with the airbox the bike runs smoother at lower speeds but difficult to say there was much of a performance differance either way.

Ok! That helps a lot! 130 secondary main jet with MAC 4into1 or pods and go with undiablo set up.
Thx a lot!
