I've been getting waves of advice, and while I thought that was the case, it's comforting to get confirmation of that. I was concerned that by making those turns I could be upsetting some MORE complex balance of fuel and air. Knowing it's merely a fine adjustment of throttle roll will help me attack the setting with more confidence.

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationTurn that screw with plastic knob in a couple of turns until the idle increases. Don't be afraid, this is not rocket science. In fact, turn it in until you have a high idle and then slowly back it down the other direction. The pilot screws need to be set properly, but that's a different task entirely.

Oh, and be sure to hit ebay and get yourself a factory Kawasaki service manual for your bike. Not Clymers or Haynes. The real Kawasaki manual. When you get it be sure to find the maintenance section and start knocking off all the items listed: valve adjustment, brake system flush, etc. Owning 30+ year old motorcycles require constant maintenance so better plan ahead.

If leaving the manual petcock in the ON position flooded the crankcase, then you also have one or more float valves failing to seal. This may be yor primary problem, as that carb or those carbs will be flooding their respective cylinders, preventing them from firing at low rpm.

Done! Thanks for the link, Nessism.

I'm up and running and idling at a healthy 1100. Thank you all for your assistance.

So was it a simple idle adjustment or what? Maybe you mentioned it above, but I didn't read everything.
