Don't fix it until it's broken.

Finally got around to syncing the carbs. Floats set, mixture for fastest idle and then started sync. They weren't even close. I'm talking they weren't even in the same zipcode. But I got them all in sync and when done I thought "I should have made a video of this because they were all so far off". Every video I see the carbs are already in sync or very close. This would have really been a good instructional because they were so bad.
#1 @ 5 in #2 @ 9 #3 @ 15 and #4 @ 11 ( all inches of mercury) when I started. Idle was at 1100. So after I got them in sync I had to re-do the mixture setting which wasn't too far out. Sync remained within 1/2 inch and smooth idle at 1000 RPM so I called it good.
Thanks for all the help on this one. I'm putting a new front tire on it now and just came in to take a break after removing the old tire and cleaning the wheel in the parts washer. There is a car and motorcycle show today in the next town over I want to ride my KZ.

I hope so. I would do test rides but never went over 40 mph with that tire. It was a little weather cracked and the date code was 2008. I replaced it with a Dunlop "V" speed rated tire. So today I should be able to ride it at highway speeds for a few miles. Rear tire is only 1 year old and only has a few hundred miles on it.
Ok I'm outta here... going to ride!
