I am looking for an air filter box (part 11012-1103 - the box behind the air filter) for my 1981 KZ305. Can anyone here offer one for sale to me? Alternatively, can some one that owns one of these bikes (see below list of compatible models) kindly measure the one on their bike (ESPECIALLY the size of the section with the hole where the air enters at the far end of the box) and pass it on to me so I can try to fabricate one? I sure would appreciate it. This box is critical for the tuning and performance of these bikes. I've attached images of the part to this message. Thanks! Bob

Replied by punisher11b on topic KZ250/305 Air Filter Box? or Measurements Please?
The far end is 1.5" x1.5" exactly, one corner is rounded. The diagonal to the rounded corner is 1.75". All measured to within 1/64 of an inch. All are inner dimensions. Let me know what else you need. Good luck :)

- good luck

I got a postage price of $15 NZD and I think the box was 4 bucks. Let's call it 20 bucks US and I'll package it up and send it if you still want it.

For anyone else who needs one of these air boxes, I am looking into getting a 3D model printed. I figured, based on the measurements given in another topic on this forum, that the intake opening size is 2 square inches. I have previously built a box with sheet metal, but it was a pretty terrible design. In building it, I was able to see what worked and what didn't, so I've used that understanding in combination with the measurements of the original air filter and the pictures of the original air filter box to create a 3D model that should work great as a replacement. I'm waiting to get a quote back for the 3D printing. Hopefully, it won't cost much. The only problem with the design is that, to save money by cutting back on materials, I've made the box a lot smaller than the original, so it will need a metal bracket to attach between the two bolts in the front and the one bolt in the back. The bracket will be necessary to keep a downward pressure on the box so that it will hold tight against the front air box. I'll post more information once I get a quote for the printing. I'll also come up with a simple design for the bracket.
