I have got a rough base map on the 650 now, I made up a Tech Edge 3eo WB o2 which has a display on the controller that I am using to set up the AFR ratios. It is going lean under rapid acceleration so I will need to set up the accel enrichment. I have been tuning with a palm but I managed to drop it off the bike this afternoon and the screen on it got broken . We have just bought 2 palm 3c off e bay, one with a few parts missing but the screen is still good, Laughing. I must say that hte palm is a god send as I would really struggle to get the table tuned. I am going to get a new battery for my lap top so that I can try auto tune once I am a bit more familiar with the programs etc
Cheers

I assume you are running Alpha N? And what Engine Temp sensor are you using and how did you mount it?
Are you using a GPz1100 fuel pump?

yep, GPZ pump. Temo sensor is an NTN thermister epoxied into a wire lug that is underone of the cam box cover bolts, used easy therm to sort out the files for the ecu, worked a treat

HI guys,
I have been playing around with the ms map, its awesome to be able to change the bies mixture with a push of a button, had a bit of a mishap with the palm, it fell out of the holder at around 110kph iconshocked3 and although it wasnt ridden over it got damages and had a broken screen but I was lucky enough to be able to find a one that a screen that was ok
Palm tune works well and I get an instant response on the WB display, only done 1/2 the map and have the AFRs in the low 12s
but I want to gat h e afrs to around 12.5 to 13.5. Once ai am happy with the map I will use the auto tune program and see how much of a difference there is between the 2 maps

I love mixing old and new technologies. If you ever have the time, you should write a full article on your system, and post it up for all of us to read, and envy.
Great job!

Ill see what I can do re the write up as soon s I get the bike tuned, went for a ride down the coast on Sat 250 km, bike ran well afrs around 12.5 to 13.5, need to work on the higher rpm bins but speeding is a problem:unsure: also need o find a quite longish road with little or no traffic. Dont know where all tehse cars come from these days

Ok, 650 is now running ignition on the megasquirt ecu after the '81 gpz750 ignition icignitor blew up on the way to the april fools run (400km from home)
With teh help of my mate Ian we have modified the megasquirt ecu to do the ignition as well. Had problems with elct noise interfiering with the sensor inputs to the ecu and causing resets, changed the plug leads to spiral wound ones and fitted resistor plugs (NGK BR8ES)
and shes all good. I have used one of the std kawasaki vr sensors and have a chain sprocket taht I machined the diameter down removed a tooth (12-1 toothed wheel for $3.80)

That is way cool, I have thought about putting a system on my bike, you stepped up to the plate and did it;)
what are you using for a air flow sensor and air temp sensor?
does anyone have a dyno that you could run the bike on and tune it that way?
