I also want to adjust the valves there's a ticking coming fron the right side. Could someone direct me to a full how to replace the shims and adjust the valves "LINK".
Or maybe someone has the time to explain how to go about adjusting the valves. THIS IS ALL I HAVE REGARDING THE VALVES. I am assuming this is the wrong book I bought. Click the link below:

If it has the original parts still.... you have to pull the cams to adjust the valves. It will have shim on bottom setup.
To adjust TPS, the plugs holding the cover of it have to be removed. BE careful. You'll probably need to come up with some new screws to hold the cover back on it. Adjusting is simple.
Engine needs to be up to normal temperature. Loosen the 2 screws that hold the TPS. Turn it to obtain highest stable idle. Have the bike idling about 1100 when you start adjusting the TPS.
It's best if the valves are adjusted properly and the throttle bodies synchronized before you adjust the TPS.

16 Jun 2011 21:54Send you F/P regulator to SID POGUE you can contact him at 1-405-677-9397 see post by Larry this is proper way to set TPS. if you suspect valves out of adjustment make sure they are at the proper clearance them make sure you have No air leaks at you intake manifolds then preform throttle body sync then preform TPS adjustment per Larry's post.man-of-war wrote: DFIGPZ

Whatever was mentioned above regarding trying to fix the hesitation between 2000 to 3000 RPM on the GPZ 1100 is irrelevent........ The culprit to this problem is the CHECK VALVE that screws into the tank. Click the link below to see the pictures:

In my circumstance the culprit was NOT the check valve it was the overall slightly LEAN mapping of the DFI's air fuel ratio. I'm well aware of the issues that can be had with a faulty check valve. In most all cases a debris clogged check valve causes increased fuel pressure, and overly rich running condition.

Now I could get back on track and finish my restoration on this bike. I'm itching to get into the valvs and fix the ticking noise.
