I'll guess about 40 MPG in city only and about 50 - 55 MPG highway only depending on cruising speed. I used to get about 60 MPG cruising at 60 MPH, but it dropped to about 45 MPG if I cruised between 70 - 75 MPH. Also depends on rider weight, an extra 50 pounds on a bike is a big change.

I don't know anyone with a 650, but I have a 1000 and get 35-40 mpg last time I checked. My tripodometer doesn't work though, so I've quit checking it recently. From what I have read on here though, the 650's don't seem to get much beter mileage than the 1000's, but again that's only what I have heard. I would hope they get better mileage, as my Saturn gets as good of mileage as my bike!

Haven't checked it yet, Just getting Ideas to see what it should be within an average of. The seller told me it should get 40/60 so I was checking others results.

321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

I've had a lot of miles on a KZ650. You may get 50 highway, I doubt any better than that. I got 60mpg when mine was new many moons ago, but quickly dropped off. About 40-45 would be what the majority of them will be getting, doesn't matter much city or highway.

I've owned my KZ650 since new and I've always gotten between 30-40 MPG depending on how hard I'm pressing it. Everything on it is stock, and it runs great. I have 48,000+ miles on it and still get the same mileage. I have never understood the high mileage figures I've seen here and elsewhere, but I must admit, I don't normally just putt putt along at 55mph. Ed

I almost always hit reserve at about 135-140 miles. Even with trying to get good milage and dropping jet size with stock exhaust I still get consistant 40 mpg.
