Old-Skul,
That's also interesting. I have to admit that while I've not had any problems with the pods I've done very little "wet" riding. I have seen lots of posts here mention problems in the rain though.

The only thing I am really worried about is pulling over somewhere in the rain, and having water run off the tank into one of the pods. Whilst remote, there could be a slight chance of that causing a problem. I couldn't see a problem with the engine drawing in water droplets whilst running, aircraft engines do it all the time.

I don't know if the oil in the pods keeps the water out (they don't mix right?) or what but I can pretty much definitively say K&Ns and rain are no problem on the 650. I've parked my bike many times at the local movie theatre to walk out to a south east afternoon downpour. Always kicks over right away and absolutely no issues. My bike is generally garaged so it's never been in the rain for days and weeks, but for hours it's certainly been exposed to the weather with no issues!

Well there you go, I have engineered a solution to a non existant problem! Middle management here I come! LOL!
Seriously, good to hear that other bikes are fine with pods.

I cant remember what they cost. maybe like $20 a piece?
i paid close to dealer cost, so i cant remember what retail is. with a K&N name, they gotta be a bit pricey!

Now thats really interesting. I found them on the K&N website. The only thing they dont give is a price.
