carb issue still unsolved????

Also, I am kinda afraid that fuel is getting down into the crankcase, but have not checked or given it the sniff-test. Also, the bike doesnt even have to be running. I can just turn on the fuel and within a couple minutes the steady stream of fuel comes out carb 4.
Please help!!!

Just a thought Jordan, but is it possible that the float is catching on something when you reinstall the bowl?

Huh, never thought about that. There cant be much for the float to catch on, and it is only that carb everytime i reinstall them. I should also include that the bike rides like normal right away before the bowls have enough time to fill up. Also, I can shut off the gas and after some of the fuel gets used up it starts running good until it runs out of fuel.

Check the tip of the needle and mating seat for fit. Polish if needed to get a good seal.

And assure that the float adjustment tang actually still exists and hasn't broken off.
Would also assure the seat is not loose and is snugly tightened down.
Once overflow condition no longer occurs during bench testing, the tang may yet remain imperfectly adjusted. So would re-test (while carbs are still on the bench) using the clear plastic tube method (which method was impossible under the earlier overflowing conditions).
Good Luck!

vent tube? Is that the vacuum port deal on carb 4? I think it is capped off.
Well I don't know for sure,as I'm not too familiar with the vacuum style carbs, but I would look into that line that is "Capped off"...not sure that is should be capped.
If it IS in fact a "vent" line, then it should NOT be capped off.
On my 29's,I had the same issues because originally,I had the vent lines capped off,and I too was getting fuel seeping out of the pod end of the carbs.
Look into it.

...Gas literally pours out of carb four (far-right). When I say pour out, I mean leaks out from the inlet and out the pod...Carbs seem to be very clean inside...just turn on the fuel and within a couple minutes the steady stream of fuel comes out carb 4....
leaks out from the inlet -- please elaborate, being more specific. What inlet? Does this mean the inlet at the fuel pipe tee where the fuel line connects to carb?
steady stream of fuel comes out carb 4 -- from exactly where? Is any fuel coming from floatbowl overflow?
Fuel leaking past floatbowl gasket?
Cracked fuel line?
Loose fuel line fitting?
Cracked inline filter?
Pic?
Good Luck!

i took off the bowls and held the carbs so the floats could hang and didnt see any real differences. Just to try it I adjusted carb 4 quite a bit, so it closes earlier. Reassembled and went for a ride. Seems to ride just like it should. I am kinda worried about how much it was adjsuted. Is it possible that the spring inside the float needle was getting worn out. If so, im betting that is the culprit.

In my original post I stated that the fuel literally comes out of the inlet where the pod is. By pod I mean pod filter. No, the fuel does not leak out of the overflow that I could see, there was so much fuel i guess i only noticed it coming from the inlet. Also, all of the floats look brand new.

Thanks for clarifying.
Where overflow circuit operating correctly, fuel should not rise up into carb throat. But maybe overflow circuit was simply being overrun by volume of excess fuel admitted past needle into bowl (for whatever reason).
Would sniff-test crankcase oil for possible contamination by fuel intrusion.
kinda worried about how much it was adjusted -- clear plastic tube test will resolve doubt.
Am thinking spring in float needle isn't the issue.
Good Luck!

And already changed the oil in fear of it containing fuel
