Either fix the accelerator pump or rejet accordingly. Are you the guy from the bike shop that originally posted this thread?

Wiredgeorge, I need help here too. I read your response here and as an absolute beginner I'm confused. What I read was to step up jet mains and pilot's up 1 to 2 sizes. Mine are 102.5 on mains and 15 on pilots. Sorry kz1000b with pumper carbs. I'm not sure the pump works but I believe it does as I got vacuum/pressure while working the lever. Anyway, I put air pods on and it has a stock exhaust with no baffles left as they rusted out. Because I read sizing up one or two sizes and what I could find online I have pilots at 20 and 25 and 105 and 110's for mains on order. It sounds like I under shot this by a lot? The air screw I think I read but now I cant see your post. I'm assuming that mean the air/fuel mixture screw? Mine were at 6 turns out but I got the carbs in a bag not on the bike. I need clarification as I'm brand new at this. When I'm looking at the bottom of the carbs I assume turning them clockwise/right that tightens or closes them? Please confirm or correct and then turn out out/open one turn? Thanks so much and anything else you can add is great!

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationJerryvan.
With or without the accel pump disabled you should fit stock pilots, stock needle position, start at 117.5 mains, set mixture screw at 1 and 1/2 turns out as a base line ( out to richen when the mix screw is underneath) and fit these air corrector jets

You should be close with that set up.
Once running you you may need to reduce the mains.
Make sure you are running good quality pods, K&N etc not cheap chinese crap as these can be restrictive.
Read this attached thread to the end regarding the air corrector jets -

What year is your bike? You say you have an accelerator pump, which means it's likely a '79 or '80.

Oh...and I don't think WG will answer as this is a 2008 thread. You might try him here.

There are four years of kz1000b bikes. 1977 is a B1, 1978 is a B2, 1979 is a B3 and 1980 is a B4. That's why I asked.

Kz1000 B1 = 1977
Kz1000 B2 = 1978
Kz1000 B3 = 1979
Kz1000 B4 = 1980

By only stating its a Kz1000 B leaves it a possibility of 4 years. Asking what year is a legitimate question.

If not considered Id suggest you break down the carbs and clean them thoroughly. You will save time in the long run knowing your actually tuning and not hiding a problem.

All of which have different carb setups.
