I follow your reasoning, that is why I started this thread thinking it might be just not enough fuel in the carb design for this lsightly larger engine. Tomorrow I will switch out the petcock and see if this makes a difference. Thanks again Steel.
It's strange, just one little 1/2 second spurt of starter fluid and BAM, she fires right up no problem. The bike runs great. It's got to be lack of fuel in the start up mode.
