Thanks for the advice. I don't think the breather is actually blowing stuff into the pod. It's enough to put some carbon deposits on the plugs every few hundred miles, but nothing severe, and most of that is probably due to the intake vacuum anyway. Still, your point's pretty solid. I ordered the breather filter already, but I'll keep an eye on it.

Here's the picture. It ain't pretty, but it came like that on my parts bike engine that I'm getting running.



I'm liking WG's recommendaton of the hose dumping out on the ground. This one I have is susceptible to water entry.

In the background, you can see one of the carb breather filters.
