You have four throttle slides; one in each carburetor. When you pivot the bellcrank (the thing the cables hook into), the slides should move upwards smoothly.

I personally would disassemble the entire assembly and remove everything made of rubber or plastic and put the carbs in dip to soak. I would then clean the carbs ultrasonically as the stuff holding the slides stuck is gas-goo... it is also internal inside the passageways... spraying and compressed air may not do the trick.

Snakebyte... Whether a person has the correct tool to do the job or not isn't really something I can do anything about. I can help with tips but if the person needs tools, they need to figure that one out themself I guess.

Yah I know the right tools will allways work better:)
I wonder what the ultra sonic does? Does it just agitate the liquid or does it do something else

The gas-goo wg is talking about looks and acts like epoxy glue that hasn't quite hardened up completely.
It does come off with cleaner/fresh gas/tupperware & a vibrator but soaking away can take time. Doesn't the ultra sonic device speed up the process by keeping the cleaning fluid actively moving in the small passages?
