Home made intake filter IDEA?

Well I have no airbox with my bike so I have pods and have a lot of problems when its windy . I like the idea of having pods or open air filters. So I have been thinkin (which can be scarry :( ) I was wondering if I took 4 peices of smooth walled tubbing, put 1 on each carb of equal length and went to 1 large K&N type filter putting all 4 tubes into the mounting end of the filter and seal around them so they can only draw air through the filter so all 4 carbs would be drawing air through the same open filter. Mounting the filter under the seat. Does anyone think this will work or am I out of my mind??

I did this with only two cylinders, but I thought I'd post you a few pics of my experiment.... I do have a single EMGO pod filter on it, but I didn't get a pic of that. Just imagine a pod on there...

I did this late last year, and only got to ride it around the block before winterization, but it *does* work just fine so far...

I picked up my pods from a local bike shop, they're UNIs and they had a ton of sizes availible. Cost me about $60 for four of them.

Charge air means I have the airduct mounted in the front so when I ride the bike the air is pushed into the carbs, etc by the bikes speed, like on the yamaha Vmax. So that would almost give it more power like a turbo. I would buy 2 long ones that are routed to the front and when it comes back to the carbs, just split it into 2. Plus have a filter somewhere in the system that would allow it to get air but at the same time stay dry, and easy removal for cleaning. Got to go back to work, hows the clutch?
