Re: Retiring from Drag Racing

Today I went to my Son's house and took the battery out of a truck he is selling to spin this engine over to check the compression. I have had it sitting with some WD40 on the rings for a couple of days.
I need to check the cam timing to be sure where it is as the cam cover was loose and its been so long I am not sure what I was doing when I last assembled it. There are some notes but I have not had time to read them yet.
This is how I check the cams on this bike :
A custom degree wheel that rides on a socket. The decal is a little wrinkled up from sitting in a hot barn but it should be OK to get it "close".
The piston domes are so big the plugs sit up on some thick spacers.
Also found some alcohol and nitro stored with the bike. I had about 4 gallons of alcohol with about 20% Nitro mixed, and 1/2 a gallon of 100% Nitro sealed up well in containers. I also found about 700 ml of fuel lube. I was thinking I may be able to offer this up to some RC hobby guys because I think they run 20-30% mixed fuels.

Found out I had more 100% Nitro than what I thought I had, about 1-1/2 gallons. I also was able to test the 3 x 1 gallon containers and they are at 3.5%, 9.5% and 11.5%.
Already have one RC Monster truck guy interested so have to mix up to 20% minimum. Not sure on the pricing yet but that stuff has really gone up in price!
