I have never met him since I was never into the local road race scene. His shop is about 3 hours from me but I have never made the trek. Back in the day if you wanted a pipe there was Hindle, Wolf, and Charron all within driving distance.

My personal choice was V&H :)

Back in the early 90's when a couple friends and I had Honda 750 Interceptors (V4's)  a Hindle was the pipe we all wanted. (I couldn't afford one, had to "make do" with a Yoshimura instead)    Those gear driven cam V4's sounded like a V8 when they had the right headers on them!

I still get those calls from persons seeking carb stuff needing done on those VF's. Had my share of the 500/700/750/1100's to contend with, always cringe thinking about them, ha. I know a fella that had a 1000 Interceptor laying in a field, probably should of rescued that rare bird..but didn't.

I know what you mean about working on the old V4's.  Several years ago there were two motorcycles left in the garage - a VF750F and a Z1.  An easy  choice which one to keep, sold the Interceptor cheap.  Wonder if the guy knew what he was getting himself into !

I had a VF750S Sabre for quite a while—all the hassle of the Interceptor, but not nearly as cool. Wrestling those carbs in and out from between those cylinder heads was just maddening. I've never had and sold a bike I don't kind of miss, but I miss that one less than most.
Is this thing working? Is this thing on?

We have an 84' Sabre 700S and a 84' Interceptor 1000. The Interceptor carbs are easy to pull, they come out the top.

As I remember, the trick was to get both the front and rear carb throats started in the rubber manifolds at the same time, there was an elusive "sweet spot" to get the rack lined up.  Curse words usually helped...

BTW, that's a sweet Interceptor
