Good season start was created by turboguzzi
so then, am i still the only member road racing a kawi here?
whatever, the italian vintage championship started last weekend at the Varano track and I brought home a 3rd place trophy on my old & trusty Gpz750/810 behind a full 1000 cc guzzi and duc.
amazingly, motor it still super strong after 4 seasons without much attention, was easily able to stay with a 16 valve, air-oil 750GSXR on the straights in one of the mixed classes practice, so that 90 rwhp was no fluke :)
cheers,

(i'm the told guy on the right BTW...)

TG I may not comment but I do follow your post's about your racing.
Keep adding to this thread like I've done my drag strip thread
and keep it in one place will make it easyer to follow you.

As for racing road or drag very few on here race their KZ's
I guess their too scared of breaking them.

Auguri!! e Grazie assai per la vostra contribuzione al KZ Rider, da Toronto, Canada.

I have a 1980 Kawasaki KZ750 Ltd. I bought new. I recently managed to get it out of my garage after 28 years and put it on the road again (2010). I feel like a kid all over again. Since I have acquired 3 78 KZ1000 Ltd, 1 1981 KZ1000 Ltd, and another 1980 KZ750 Ltd. Love the LTD's.

tnxs guys
a side note, just for peace of mind took off this week the sump coveroff after four years to have a peek and it's amazing. not even a hit of swarf or metal particles, and i do plenty of clutchless shifting during a race. everything looks just perfect after 4 season of hard racing and shifting at 11K. Neither did the shims require any adjustment and that's with pretty hot cams. I do change oil and filter every other race though.

Dont know the bigger K motors that well , but i am tempted to say that the 650/750 unit is even more bullet proof!

I think the small four is a better motor with the one piece crank,
plain bearing's, a better oiling system and shim under bucket.
I beat the dog shit out of mine and don't worry about it.

I think Corey has moved on to SV's, but I wonder if he will still campaign the ZX.

I did back when I put the VM29's on to see the A/F ratio
at 15 to 1 way lean it made 76 hp at the wheel.
Now with the fresh motor and way better jetting I'd say it's
high 80's or better.
I plan on calling the dyno guy this week and see about another dyno day.

hei zuk, lets see waht you get jetted properly
my experience with the 810 kit was that as installed compression ratio was not high enough.

welded the heads quite a bit to get higher CR and larger squish areas.

TG when I had the head done Curtis took about 020 off the surface
so I'm thinking about 10 1/2 CR. I'd like it to be over 11 to 1 CR.
