Mr. Kowitz, I see you were entered into the Superbike race in 82 on a Kaw and a Yamaha for the Formula 1 up at Road America.
I've been digging through my pictures trying to find one of you, no luck so far, I'll keep looking.
I hope you did well.
Any ways I found a couple more shots of Eddie's rigs, you guys sure traveled in style back then.

the only Yamahas I have raced were in club races, WERA, etc...only Kaws in the AMA Pro series. Must have been a misprint. I did race my Z1 in the Formula 1 race at Road America 1 year. That was a particularly wild weekend....long story.
...and yes, I did quite well as a privateer: 1 victory, a few top 5s, many top 10s, and one offer of a factory ride.
Kawasaki Motors Corp gave some assistance to my privateer effort, but Triumph offered me a place as 1 of 3 riders on their newly formed factory superbike team in the mid 70s.
2 time Daytona 200 winner Dale Singleton and Ron Mass were the other 2 riders. This effort never got off the ground as Triumph closed their doors shortly thereafter.

How's the project coming along?
What was the bore size of those carbs? Crying shame they're gone now
I dam near had my hands on one of the heads used on Eddie's bike. I was pretty good phone friends with a Hot Line tech back in the mid 80's. He waited at the dumpster when the litre bike race team was eliminated. We talked about some of the parts he got. He had flow numbers. I was shocked to see it only did 88CFM. That was converted down to 10" from 15" that it was tested at.
If you raced at Pocono in 82, I saw you. Eddie's bike smoked a fair bit on closing throttle as Rob was warming it up. I was quite surprised at that. The next year I watched Wayne kick the crap out of a field of 750 Interceptors

Pocono 82/83 I was a teen with press credentials :woohoo:
I knew a few people and was at all the WERA races at Pocono... back then, about 7 per season just at Pocono.
Here is a gallery of those images... HERE
There is another gallery of some images from WERA as well.

Thanks for posting. We need a place to keep old images.
Here is a new friend I met last year. His name is Bud green and he raced all his life. From Daytona to the six days trials for John Penton. Roy
