1977-1978 KZ 1000 fuel tank

How much should I expect to pay for a 1977-1978 KZ 1000 (not the LTD type) used fuel tank with no major dents, and still with the little brackets for tank emblems? Z1 Enterprises sells replica fuel tanks, but the prices just went up.

If you’re patient, you can probably get one for $150-200.  Remember, the 77 and 78 did not share the same fuel tap design if that matters.

Thank you for your reply. I am not too concerned about the fuel tap design, and I am not in a hurry. The bike will not be completed any time soon. Thanks.

I've a 1978A KZ1000 tank but Where are You located? I'm in Kansas. Like Streetfighter mentioned, the 1977 had a 22mm round bung and 1978 changed to a flange type petcock. Mine is the flange style.

Kofla got my 1978 tank. Had to knock the dust off it but boxed/labeled due for UPS this morning. We had fun chatting on the "phone", Yes, persons still do that, ha. Kofla is a Cool Cat and best wishes on his project!!
