Wanted: ZX550A cams
03 Jun 2025 08:39 - 03 Jun 2025 10:09
Just throwing this out there. I’m potentially interested in getting a set of ZX550A (‘94 GPZ550) camshafts to make the most of the big bore kit install I have planned for my bike. Thanks!
A breeze from the west.

I’m not 100% positive on the years they were produced. I’m just going off of
this page
and things like eBay listings for info. It’s the “second performance grind” with the three grooves that I’m after.
I’m located in Vancouver Washington USA.

Maybe someday, but those are a LOT more expensive than what I can afford.

Re: Wanted: ZX550A cams
07 Jun 2025 19:19ill have to pull the valve cover off and have a look . i have a parts bike I bought that has a rod threw the block. The cams are probably fine. Ill get over to the shed and have a look and see what they are as soon as the mud dries and get back to ya .I’m not 100% positive on the years they were produced. Re: Wanted: ZX550A cams
Yesterday 07:41
ebaayy has a number of sets out of germany. ~ $130 - $150 total. the info on that gpz page is mostly u.s. models. the rest of the world would have had others. such as the zx400. cmsnl.com has diagrams for some of them. example. zx400c which has the -1059 inlet camshaft.
www.cmsnl.com/kawasaki-zx400c2-1985-euro...84/partslist/B8.html
. on ebaayy.uk. some zx400A camshafts (unknown part numbers) have the 3 grooves. cmsnl doesn't have those diagrams.
