Need one of these, but I'll buy more if you want to sell as a set.

Ordered some from Revzilla, because they showed in stock, but I need two, and they shipped one.  I'm NOT too happy about that, because their inventory system said they have two.

Anyway, these are the bikes that the collars fit.  Note: they fit later year 650's, but not the early bikes.

Partzilla states "ships in 7-10 days".  In other words, they don't have them, but can get them...which means a 2-3 week wait.  I was hoping to avoid such a long delay, which is why I ordered from Revzilla, because they said they truly had them in stock.

The rest of the story...I don't ride my bike much, if at all these days.  So, I asked my son, who is a relatively new rider, and extremely eager to learn about different bikes, to take it to work.  He normally commutes on an MT-07 Yamaha.  He happily accepted my offer and off he went.  Upon arriving home that evening, I heard him drive up and knew something was wrong by the sound.  An investigation showed that the nuts on one of the header pipe had loosened, allowing the collar to move back, and the half moon collars fell out on his ride home.    It's my fault for not snugging down the nuts periodically.  Truth is, the bike has only covered about 500 miles since I rebuilt it a few years back.  Sad, I know.  Retirement is coming pretty soon, though, at which time I'll ride more again.

Edit: on further thought, I remembered that when building the bike, I had a hard time getting the exhaust headers to seal properly to the head.  I wound up cutting some supplemental header gaskets out of this, tough as hell to cut, metal mesh reinforced header gasket material.  No doubt, there has been some settling in of the gaskets here, thus the cause for the loose nuts.  My bad.

I only need ONE of these stupid things.  I'm starting to think that it's not worth the hassle for you, or me, to ship one of these things from coast to coast.

I'm going to look for a chunk of barstock where I work, for a possible lathe project to make these.  It's going to make a crap ton of chips, though.  Or maybe Revzilla will find that second part I paid for, but they didn't ship.  At any rate, thanks for the offer, but I'm going to hold for the time being.

I turned mine from thick walled tubing (6mm) then cut them in half to cut down the machining time

I agree, those are easy to turn out on a lathe, especially for one piece. Turn one then cut it in half and have a spare.

Those are the shorter 750 collars used from '82 and up. (note to self - tighten those stud nuts)

If you use these copper plated "lock nuts" from the car world they won't come loose or corroded on in the same way steel nuts do
