I'm looking to make a spare key for my 1982 KZ550A3. I have a working key, I just need an extra blank so I can make a copy. Anybody know where I can find/order one?

Thanks for the suggestions. I sent an email to a locksmith in my area, haven't heard back yet. I was mostly wondering if there was some online store where you can find vintage motorcycle key blanks. Haven't found mention of anything like that elsewhere in the forum, and my basic google search didn't turn up much. The Kawasaki website didn't seem very helpful either, but maybe I was just looking in the wrong places - it's not the most user-friendly site.

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationI have had keys cut from the key code at several different locksmiths.  It seems to be a very standard service.  The number stamped on your key is the specific key code for your bike.  Locksmiths have a database with all of the cuts for all of those codes.  This way you don't even need to make a copy of your worn out key.  The key cut from the code should be like new.

My guess is that any decent locksmith will have blanks and can look up the code.  The only difference will likely be price.  I've paid a little and a lot for this same service.  I think the local shop near me does it for around $12 or something.

It looks like you want Ilco blank KA14.  There are a ton on Ebay.  For example:

I'm currently using the ilco KA14 X103 already mentioned.  I think I got it at the hardware store & had it cut there.  It's been a quite a while, so I forget for sure.

I ended up ordering a couple blanks from DOHC's ebay link. Thanks for all the info everyone!
