This is a hub & disc I bought in April from a member "USA FOREVER" I did my resto work on it. Turned out nice.
But rims complete are tough to find, especially 77-78 specific only! Buy a $100-$200 nice 40 spoke ring, a set of $130 Buchanon SS spokes. Find someone to true it up $$??
This is why your looking for a complete rim!
Go on facebook and search the old ebay "PAIDEN" out This is "Jake Cooper" on FB from Ohio.
He has a big stash of parts.

Thanks Matt! I just passed it on to a guy who exports to Japan. After all said and done, and all my labor. I think I made $5.00 bucks! But I love doing this stuff, just to see how it turns out. I know your 76 is built to stock. But, did you see this item I restored? I cut the rusted wheel off and re-did the hub. I love polished aluminum, so this was the complete hub. I got $400 on ebay for this.
Good luck with your engine, It's tough you find bad parts. Maybe I would have tried to clean the small ends of that crank, polish with some fine grit, with high speed air or ? Along with new wrist pins. It won't have any bad rod knocks, if so you will know what it is. Or find a $100 dollar crank on ebay. They are so close and interchangeable. no problems. One of my drag / street bikes had a 1973 top case with the 73 VIN. And a 1978 lower case with all internals. That's how good the Kaw Factory built stuff and stayed in tolerance over the years.!
Here is that hub I did and sold, ready for a new rim & spokes.

I'm told the early kz750 wheel will work is this true and if so do I need different spacers ?Does anyone have one of those? My project is at a stand still till I find one.

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationIt claims to be the 750. 750 twin part 42005-048, 1000A is 42005-053. Bearings are the same between both but the axle is different. The spacers are also different

Appears the bearings and seals are the same so I’d guess the axle is a different length, another indication is the spacers are different. That makes me think it length and maybe the brake caliper mount is different thus requiring the different axle… I can’t tell you if the 1000A is longer or shorter. This is all just me talking out loud. Not much help be just my $.02

Here’s a side by side fishe I put a square around the different spacers. Your going to have to look at rear caliper mounting to decide more.

Here. The caliper mount on the 1000A doesn’t need a bush/sleeve.
EDIT: Number 4 on the 1000A is a caliper bracket bush/spacer. Sorry
