Don't forget about the shaft drive.

I also wonder how well the header would fit in the kz frame

07 May 2025 14:54Oh, so it has to be attractive? Well, there is the factory solution of hiding it in some bodywork. Maybe put it horizontally out back like a luggage rack......Performance would be good but how do you make the radiator look attractive ???Somebody really needs to build a Connie powered KZ.

07 May 2025 14:55 - 07 May 2025 14:56There are some shaft drive KZ models. Take the KZ1300 for example.Don't forget about the shaft drive. forum.concours.org/index.php?threads/94-...o-chain-drive.36581/

Yep.
But I've never seen the Concours or the kz shafties in person...is the shaft geometry similar enough to use a concours motor in a stock kz frame (besides motor mounts)?

I don't know, but somehow I doubt it could be that simple.

It won't work because the swingarm mounting area is wider and different. There's castings in the frame there. It's the same basic motor as the other liquid cooled 1000cc bikes but tuned for torque. The bike was built for long distance rides, does it very well and you can have a lot of fun along the way. They handle really well and you won't scrape parts in the corners like a Goldwing.
