Early z1 on ebay Z1F-00015

The early bikes were given or sold at deep discounts to journalists and others associated with the z1 program.
Do not have the list, would be interesting to know who it was.
Unlikely to sell.

Pricey. IOHO it would have to be a pristine & exactly correct museum piece in every possible detail to justify that price.  Will be interesting to watch.

Wonder if price is firm...?

What seller claims are the OEM head & carbs look correct.  Carbs are ribless & vacuum ports have been modded with the kit to do away with the goofy spring thingys.  Otherwise, insufficient data on details.

Noticed that earlier this morning, hefty price. Looks like he has a whole shed of stuff. Funny, read the Description! Wife wants new shoes but he doesn't really want to sell, ha. Looks like H2-H1 Triple Calipers on it?? Wonder if that is how they came out, borrowed parts from the 72 H2?

Do you think he is just "going through the motions" to appease his wife ? surely can't be serious at that price ?

Wrong front brakes, damaged wrong year tank, damaged seat, head and carbs swapped back and forth, mileage not listed.  A decent older Z1 but obviously well used and put away wet.  And frame number matches engine number exactly?  He doesn't want to sell it and he won't be disappointed !   IMO, if it runs good it's a $5000 daily rider at best, early numbers and all.  I'd keep it and ride it.

It's obvious he don't want to sell. 79k would put alot of nice kz's in my tiny shed.

Too many to fit. Kind of like the 30 college students crammed in a VW beetle.

The first 100 bikes frame and engine numbers match.

In June  2020 CB750-1000028 (28th sandcast) sold for $46k
If Z1F-00015 was restored it could sell in that range.

Whoever buys is is buying the serial numbers.  The bike needs a lot more work to be completely restored.  Some photos of the gauges/dash and under the seat would have been nice.  Can't tell if the gauges or seat are original.  Tywraps on the handlebars are pretty bush league.

Edited to add....how would one arrive at a weird price like that?  Why not just $80k?
I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.

Thanks, 73z1.  I think I read somewhere that the numbers didn't quite match from the beginning due to some development engines that didn't make it into frames.  Don't know how accurate that was, but it made sense.

I guess in the classic vehicle world especially, things are worth "what somebody is willing to pay" and any kind of "price guide" is purely based on previous sales. I think though in many cases guys look at sales of the "best of the best" and use that as a guide for significantly inferior vehicles.
