looking for better ratchet straps
30 Jul 2025 16:26
I'm looking for straps better than Walmart or Lowes sells. Ideally ones that ratchet in both tightening and loosening directions. The heavy duty Walmart ones tighten ok, but are a pain to gently and slowly release tension. I feel one of these days my bike will smash into my rear window or fall off the carrier, should a
strap suddenly release when removing it.

I use the basic ones from HF. They don't ratchet in the loosening direction, but I always undo the car side first so the tension on the remaining straps leans the bike away from the car.
