It was a term we used a lot in my brief military stint and also working for state government. Short and sweet and everyone knew what it meant as I guess you do too.

Thanks for the answer, Rick. I didn't use it in the military, but after separating I was a defense contractor for a number of years, doing T&E on certain types of hardware so it's still rattling around the ol' brain.

I've been on the commercial side now for a long time, and there it means "Travel & Expenses". :)

Nerdy: I my previous world(s) T & E usually meant Testing and Evaluation, but it also had other meanings at times. Kind of depended on how it was used.
