Just wanted to post a pic of my homegrown drive sprocket holder. I got the idea from an old thread on this forum, while researching ways to remove the front sprocket. The manual says to break the nut loose while holding the rear brake pedal, but My bike is currently an engine and frame on a bench right now, so that wasn't going to work.

It's, a piece of the old chain, bolted to a 4ft piece of 2x2 board. Chain end gets attached to the sprocket, and the other end got zip tied to the tail of the frame. Then I had both hands to use a 3 ft cheater bar on the nut.

In hind sight, if I wanted a multi-use tool, I should have used pipe for the handle. The sprocket teeth and the bolts in the wood did a number on the end pictured. It still got the job done though.

I needed to do something similar, to remove the orig front sprocket on my D2.

Took this rig, some heat, a 3' cheater bar and both hands to break this nut loose! The swingarm was there to keep things from moving, but the hinge pins didn't fare to well! :(

Good idea, I think drive sprockets bearings can be damaged with air tools.
