1" wide x 1/16" thick LDPE soft plastic strips were used behind the hose clamps primarily to lock the rings in the FSM specified orientation to the pistons. With the clamps adjusted properly, the soft/slick plastic allows the cylinder sleeve edge to gently push the strip (and clamp) down the piston, releasing each ring within the cylinder as it passes in the exact-same position it was clamped...with assurance that no scratches were left behind on the piston.
Once the four clamped strips were properly placed on the pistons, the cylinder installation process was slickity-split fast...and precise.

16/42 gearing X ring chain and alum rear JT sprocket.
