I'd also consider making mine (for a 900) available to members for the cost of shipping and a reasonable, refundable deposit....plus a guarantee it will be returned!!

That's why I need that kz1000 ring compressor instead of the Z1, KZ900! LOL.

The problem is as soon as you go bigger 1075, 1105 etc or 700cc or 810 on mine they don't work either..... I was seriously thinking about one too till I read and figured out that.

OK... my factory Z1 900 ring compression tool did not work well on my 1015cc pistons and it didn't work AT ALL on my 1075cc pistons.
So I sold it, the piston stabilizing rods and the big orange bag/case.
I have shown pictures of this problem before even trying it on the engine....here on the KZR site and those photos can be found if looking around.
However, my factory KZ1000 ring compressor worked flawlessly, and even with my 1075cc over size pistons!!
The damn cylinder block just slid down over the four, 2mm over sized pistons and rings so fast, it actually caught me off guard.
So fast, I couldn't slow it down in time to watch what was happening...the sleeves just slipped right down and banged into the compression tool in one smooth motion.
No damage or anything,
I just wasn't really ready for it to go together that fast.
With the tool removed, (EASY) the block pushed right down with little effort and bottomed out into the locating dowel pins.....
Plus, taking the tool apart after this is just a joy, so satisfying.... compared to trying to do it with all the nutty contraptions, hose clamps, beer cans, plastic wire ties (you name it) I've seen them all.
The entire procedure took 4 minutes after squeezing the rings and that included removing the tool from the case and studs.

First attempt, and was a joy too. A cheap one...
The black plastic strip is slick. It gets pressed down the piston by the bottom of the cylinder sleeve as it presses on the edge of the strip. The rings pop free inside the sleeve where they should, with the gaps locked in their proper positions. You don't get that using fingers to compress the rings.
