So you just hose clamp the cable to the lever? What's the house for then?

No hose. Just a clamp.
What size clamp?
A little clamp.
How little?
The size that would fit a small hose.
A small hose such as fuel line?
Yes, like a clamp used to tighten the end of a fuel line.
What's a clamp like that called?
A hose clamp.
Or maybe a little hose clamp?
Just say a small hose clamp.
But which is small, the hose or the clamp?
A small hose would need a small clamp to fit the small hose.
What about a little clamp to fit a small hose?
That would be okay.
Or what about a small clamp to fit a little hose?
That's okay, too.
Or a little clamp that fits a little hose?
Sure.
So, is it a small hose clamp? Or a small hose clamp?
Could say small hose hose clamp.
Could I use the hose clamp off the petcock?
Maybe, if it didn't start leaking gasoline.
If it's dark, how would I know?

The soldering trick ALMOST got me home once. Running lights and clutch less shifting got me the rest of the way!
