1970's OEM Exhaust Value?
09 Dec 2006 14:55
Seeking Advice:
What are a set of factory Kawasaki exhaust pipes for a 750 or 900 worth? What would a fair price be for a complete set in very good to excellent condition?
These pipes are the 4 to 4 upswept variety circa 1976. I know they're hard to find in good shape, and I am not finding much pricing information online.
My uncle has a set to sell and I'm trying to give him an idea of what price to expect.
Thanks in advance for any replies.

Finding an OEM 4-into-4 exhaust system in good to excellent condition, or in any condition, for the 900 is akin to finding Noahs Ark!
But to give you a rough idea, the reproduction 4-into-4 system from American Classix sells for a whopping $1,595! :pinch:   :S  :pinch:

THe key to their value is 1) condition, and 2) the letters stamped on the top surface of the muffler.
If the bikes are from a KZ900, they will have '76' stamped on them after the rest of the letters.
If the pipes are Z1 pipes, there are many variants with no stamping, small letter stamping and larger letters.
Regardless, a set of 4-4 pipes can fetch some good money.
If in very nice condition without any rust, dings or road rash, a set will be worth $1000+ If the pipes are rare early Z1 pipes, then $1500+
