NOS muffler was created by pumps
My bike has stock original cris-crossed header pipes and mufflers. The left muffler has a pretty good sized spot where the battery dripped acid on it and took the chrome off. It was there when I got it, I made sure the vent tube is NOT there again.
Here's my question. I have a chance to get a NOS original muffler but I don't want to give my left nut for it. Shall I save my bucks and get two nice after markets or buy this NOS one to get all stock? This is kind of a "What would you do?" question.

Is this the bike on the calendar this month? If so, I don't see a spot on the muffler...
Either way, why not buy the after market ones and put a bunch of miles on them while you store the originals in a cool, dry place? Put them on for pictures and when you sell it...

My old ride is not ready for the calendar....kinda like me.:woohoo:
As I have looked at the parts diagram on the Kawi site, I have wondered if the mufflers will fit either side? The part numbers are different but from the diagram I am wondering if for some reason the right won't fit on the left and visa versa? Is there some part angled or something? I won't be home until tomorrow to look at my actual bike ...any ideas on that?

The stock ones? No way. As far as I know. They usually have welded mount points and slight or major angles in them, depending on model....As I have looked at the parts diagram on the Kawi site, I have wondered if the mufflers will fit either side?....

I like the criss-cross pipes, and you should keep them.
Consider this, any aftermarket "slip-on" will mean cutting the old mufflers off, and having a cheap looking mounting setup.
A newer 4-1 or 4-2 system would cost hundreds of dollars, and you would still have an acid damaged stock system.
If your goal is to try and keep it stock, get a price on rechroming the whole exhaust. If it is solid and undamaged it could be the cheaper way out and look like new.
