exhaust for 79SR650 D2 was created by bison
I recently purchased a 79 SR 650 D2. The guy I bought it from hacksawed about 6" off of the pipes. I'm not sure I want to spring the 300 bucks for a 4 into 1 set right yet. There is a pair on ebay off of an 80 kz650. Will those pipes work for my 79 SR?

Years ago I put an exhaust off an SR 650 on a 78 650 C and it fit with no problem. So I'm gonna say yes you should be able to go the reverse direction without any trouble. You will lose the crisscross pipes but as far as function goes it should be just fine and a lot quieter. Hope this helps.

look at an aftermarket pipe thats fits your bike, it should give a list of other bikes it fits as well, meaning all of the stock pipes should swap for the modles listed
