It's kind of hard to tell in pic #4, but is just the cover damaged or is there damage to the crankcase as well?

I've found the easiest way to check if an engine cover from another year and/or model KZ will fit my bike, is to see what other Kawi's use the same gasket for said cover.
FYI, the oil pan from the '82 KZ750R1 (GPz) as well as the '83/'84 ZX750A1/A2 (GPz) models will fit your bike.
Why you ask is this worth mentioning?
The GPz models came from the factory with an oil cooler. And the GPZ 750's also happen to use the exact same oil pan gasket (part# 11009-1983) as your KZ750H2 LTD = cooler running, and it looks like it came stock on YOUR bike! B)

Nice bike. The crack does'nt look to bad. I'd say you could fill it. The whole cover will clean up with some steel wool and Mothers polish.

By the way, though it's kinda' too late to mention it now, a set of "case guards" would have um.... guarded your case... in the fall. ;)

Some people don't like the look of them, but I like the protection they offer. I have long, boring anectdotes of how case savers/guards have protected two of my bikes from big-time and minor engine destruction.... and now you do too...

excellent, excellent...

Crank Case... doesn't appear to have any breakage in it. She's still go Oil in 'er, although i havent tried kicking her over since the dump. As i understand it, when a bike goes on its side like that, gas can get in and foul the oil out, so i want to change the oil before i turn her over.

Engine Guards. The few pics i have checked out, they look pretty good. Something i may want to consider. Especially since i bought an "older" bike with the anticipation of dropping it or dumping it once or twice while im learning. Sounds like from what you guys are sayin, i've quite the dimond in the rough here. Bonus :)

Pics... tossed them up last night. Was getting pretty dark, so the camera was set to nighttime. Bit blurry. If it ever stops rainin, i'll get out and snap off a few others, see if i cant improve on that.

Appreciate all the insight!

~Jay
