Hi, I have an 83 kz550 c4 ltd. I just replaced the sprockets, rear brakes, and drive chain. Before I did that the clutch would disengage fine. After putting it all back together, when I drop it into first to take off, the gear engages and it kills the engine. I have followed the manual and adjusted the cable several times. It still won't disengage. I had to remove the front sprocket cover to change that sprocket, what did I mess up? I am going to take the sprocket cover off tonight and reassemble again, just looking for tips and advice on fixing the issue, thanks.

You might need to take the sprocket cover off again and make sure the clutch cable is connected and seated properly where it goes into the cover. That happened to me and I just played around with it and adjusting the cable slack and it finally just worked again, but I don't know specifically what I did to fix it. Hope this helps a little.

Well took it apart last night, had the clutch cable installed off by about 90 degrees, moved it and she works, thanks for all the advice.
