exhaust question... was created by Draco
A buddy of mine has a 79 KZ750 twin with straight drag pipes he had custom bent. My question is, would it be possible for me to cut out the crossover and mufflers on my 750 four, and weld on straight pipes from the Y on back? any idea of what it would sound like. His is not too god awful loud with small "baffles" near the tips. What other mods would I have ot do to get it to run right? I'm assuming that a re jet would be required.
Other wise it will be a long while before I can come up with the $330 for a set of MAC headers with turnout mufflers. Any other options? Any thoughts/opinions are welcome. Thanks!

Anything is possible with either enough money or elbow grease. I would give it a try my self.

right, My question is, would cutting out the crossover on the stock 4-2 set up cause any problems? Why is it there to begin with? Then cutting off the mufflers and attaching straight pipes. Anyone have any idea how it would sound?
