4.0L, a little over a gallon total, but with a filter change a gallon or a little less usually does it.

Why do you think your wires are trash.Im only asking because your wires are copper core,and they normally arent bad unless they are damaged in some sort of way.Ive seen them chewed up by rats or mice.

Regarding the switches, you might find that you'll need to do some soldering once you get in there. For example, the horn didn't work on my 650B last week, so I took the left control pod apart. As I did so a couple of wires popped off of the brass sockets they were soldered to. Since I've been soldering for almost a quarter century, it wasn't a hard fix to solder them back in place, but it's something you can expect on these older machines.
