oil pan problems.. was created by brianrae33
wondering if anyone has ever had any trouble getting the oil pan off of the bottom of he engine..took every nut off and it will not budge...tapped it rather hard with a piece of wood and a hammer and nothing..??!! i'm thinking the PO had it off and maybe used some sort of sealer on it...i can make out a gasket but this sucker is really stuck..

There is nothing else that could be keeping it from coming off. Check one last time to make sure all the bolts are out. Run your finger along the outside of the pan and make sure you can't feel any bolts. Then pount on it with a rubber mallet. I wouldnt pry on it with anything. Aluminum is too soft.
