how to spend $500 on a 77 650b-1 was created by steveo_4192003
im comming across a little extra money and would like to know the best way to pend it on my bike
my stock 77kz650b-1 has no mods. whats the best way to spend the first five hundred on bike?
i want the 810cc kit, but not sur how much that can cost.! dose any one know a average price(for all work) for this kit to happen (including port work and boreing)
things i could use...new clutch plates possibley, new exhaust,(has holes), still has points ingition, paint needs done, more power!!!
i did do the basic oil/filter change, airfilter, in-line fuel filter, and had to completly rewire the bike!
if i get a new exhaust v&h system , ill need to rejet!
so i hear its two sizes for each mod. is this true?. air filter (pod style), and 4-in-1 vance and hinze
all advice will help me in my first choices for upgrades
thanks for all your time

810 kit, boring, and port work, is going to be well over $500 (especially if you pay someone to do the porting).

The exhaust and other stuff won't leave much of that $500 left.

If the engines running OK then from whats on the pic perhapes a new set of shocks, Ikon are good but cheep. Then if the tyres, chain, swing arm bearings, steerin head bearings, clutch cable and mech, and a like are good [ maybe clean up and greeze ] then a dyna ignion and side cover badgers.
leaves a couple of cartons of beer left over

I'd got with a dyns S ignition and dyna coils and dyna wires. Then with what money you have left over work on the seat and shocks. Just my 2 cents.

Dyna ignition and coils, 4-1 exhaust, pods, flat bars. In that order till money runs out. E-bay for a cheap Dyna and or 4-1. Money best spent though on ensuring all is good, brakes and tires, clutch and cable, throttle cable etc.. For some extra oomph, cams can be degreed in. This requires slotted cam sprockets. Like putting new cams in. A Dyna + coils, 4-1, pods, degree cams and flatter bar to go with more oomph it will feel like a whole new bike.

I woudn't punch it out to a bigger bore. There is a lot of power that can be unleashed by upgrading the electrical system, exhaust and K&N filters alone.

Either way, just have fun!
