Help! What year is it??

Have a Kawasaki motorcycle engine with the serial (?) number kz750ee069985. Can someone PLEASE tell me what year it is and where I can find a wiring diagram?

That would be an '82 750 E3.

Kawasaki used this same fundamental engine in a number of 750 platforms and the wiring diagrams differ slightly. There may also be problems with the info we have regarding the engine VIN numbers. For example the range of motor VINs for 1982 Z750's ranges roughly between 62000 and 78000. I have a 1982 KZ750R1 (GPz model) w/original motor w/VIN of approx. 81000, clearly out of range but correct...suggesting our database may be suspect. You need to verify what your frame VIN is if you absolutely need a diagram to be specific to your bike model. If its not important, then what Stein (KZRider) supplied will work

This is my first visit and post on this site. Am about to buy what I have been "told" is a 1981 KZ650 but I am not sure and can't seem to decipher the VIN. Can anyone identify what year and model this is?? Frame# is KZ650BE092587 and eng.# looks like KZ650B523953. Anyones help is truly appreciated. Philip:

Those numbers are 1979 KZ650B3

I have the Kawasaki parts microfiche cards for all the KZs I own of which several are KZ650s and the card gives a breakdown of serial numbers for the series. Of course you can look up parts at Kawasaki or Bikebandit among others, but they don't break down the serial numbers for the years. For this the card is very handy. There are also service bulletins on the cards available nowhere else that I know of. Cards are around $15 each and no longer made by Kawasaki so get them while you can. Of course you need a microfiche reader to view cards. Get cards here.

Ron is correct, but I think you have the engine/frame numbers reversed. The engine number would start with KZ650BE and the other number is the frame. Another place to find the year & model for each frame iin on the later Kawasaki Factory Service Manuals. Also try this link for lots of good KZ650 info:
