Ok guys i'm getting kinda bored w/ my bike. Are any of you guys runnin a 1428 engine on the street ??? I'm contemplating having a 1428 kit put in my bike this winter, well i'm not gonna do it,if i follow through w/ that plan i'm gonna crate it up and send it to Star Racing,G.B will help it make some happy power. If anyone is runnin this setup, what kinda cams are working for you on the street and what kinda carb setup are you running.

1428 is gonna be a handfull to keep cool on streetbike.on my 1385 turbo im gonna run really big oil coooler and mount an electric fan in the backbone where coils normally go to keep air moving across motor when idling.

i tried the 1428 turbo route years ago,had lots of problems mostly overpowering chassis and overheating problems.im hoping the electric fan idea will help with the heating issues.the advantage of the turbo motor im thinking will be when its idling it will basically a 8:1 motor which will help with the cooling issues,im also mounting the turbo in front of motor down low behind front wheel which im hoping will keep more heat off of motor.the biggest problem i see with a big inch carbed bike is you are gonna need more compression which is going to be pretty copnstant supply of heat even when idling.my engine builder has a 1385 bike with carbs that runs like a raped ape but it overheats when he sits at a light ,he also has an 1197 turbo that makes more power but can be driven all day long without the overheating issues.we figured the 1197 turbo makes about 150-160 horse at back wheel pretty easy(with no dyno)with about 9-10 lbs of boost and is still streetable,my 1385 should easily hit 200 plus horse with very little boost we are also plumbing it for nitrous:evil: a carbed bike would not be able to be driven everyday and make same hp.

Do the 1385. It gives you a little more cylinder wall thickness. It will need some good headwork.
