what year was the last kicker ?

i just bumped into a guy i do boiler work for --he was across the street --helping a buddy tow some old cars out of a yard --well in this yard there is an kawasaki--it say 650csr on the panels --but its a kicker ---what was the last year Kawasaki made a kicker? i'm a little confused with that -i know the csr's were later --on --i think

edit:i just looked at it its an sr650 --kz650d 11331 frame # any info on what year ??

1981 was the last year for the SR model, and I believe the last year for the kickstart on 650's. The 750 twin had kickstart till the end, 1983.

Zedder does not list the 650's for some reason, but there is lot's of info Here

What model? It does make a difference, 80 through 82 were changeover years for the 650's, some models used the original 650 motor while others had the new 750 style motors. The 750 style motors had no kickstart and a HyVo cam chain, they are the ones that a 750 top end (jugs and head) will drop right into with no mods required.

I had an 80 KZ650F model that had a kickstart, while according to the link posted above the 81 F2 didn't.

By "80 and 81" I assume you are talking about model year and not year of manufacture? If that is the year of maufacture then they very well could be 81 and 82 models.

Ya my old 81 650CSR didnt have one but my 83 KZ750H Belt drive Twin had one.

I know that 1980 was the last year for 1000's
