Well now I did it. I have been changing plugs every weekend for the drags. Well I went out and was changing the plugs with my son when I said "you have to get the plugs in right or your screwed if they get cross threaded". Well guess what. Your right, I cross threaded a plug. I thought to myself, I have two more weekends of racing then I have to work a bunch of overtime for the next month. So I jammed the plug in and cranked her down. It stayed in for the races and I'm going to leave it in for this friday. My mom and brother who lives in Florida are going to be in town and are coming out to watch so I want to race. Good thing I was going to tear into the motor after this weekend anyway! I guess the moral of the story is, keep your mouth shut.

damn.... Laughing with you. I work as a paramedic, and the words "gee, it's a quiet day" send chills down your spine! Good luck

So you managed to seat a cross-threaded plug?
Didn't that take something like a 3-foot breaker bar?
What about aluminum shavings in your cylinder?

It did take some work to get it seated (or close to it). I'm not to worried about shavings cuz I'm rebuilding this winter. Everything will be checked and cleaned and all that. It would be kinda cool if it blew up this friday. I'm filming all my runs and will get it on tape! :pinch: It sucks only having four months to race but it will give me plenty of time to buy parts and rebuild. So you managed to seat a cross-threaded plug?
