well i have test fitted the lower end of the 81 kz 750 in my 650 frame.
i should have listened to many of you guys. the 1000 would have been a pain to fit in it, but the 750 slid right in no problem at all!!!!!!
i have found another complete 750 from one of my friends here on this site!!! thanks timber!!! you the man!!!!
here is a pic of the progress!!!!

i have to do something with the fronfender, i hate the looks of the stock gixxer fender. i know that i will be cutting it down alot. so it is not so darn big!!!
then the solo seat set up is going to be painted to match the the rest of the bikes color. i still have to figure out the mounting of the front light. but that is nothing!!!!

thanks for the compliments.
as far as frame bracking. so far there is alot, since i was going to put in a 1000 (but things have changed) where the swing arm is bolted to the frame for instance, that is 1/4" steel on both sides (inner and outer of the frame, per side) i will be doing more bracing by the coils and where the tank ends. plus a little more for the mono shock. i have a tendency (spelling?) to over build things!!!!! but they don't come apart.
i will still be cutting the front fender down, just in the very front. i think it looks like a tank. you gotta see it in person, man it is massive compared to the rest of the bikes styling.

the rear wheel is a stock gixxer 180 in size, but it has a racing compound on the rear and the front, (dunlop rear with metzler front)
these tires are very soft, let me tell you they stick to everything. you can push your thumb nail into it with ease, i have to say that i love it!!!!!!

Reminds me back when I worked for the bike wrecker. A young gun came in. Had saved all his money up, got a loan from his parents and bought a brand new 91 600 Ninja. Burnt the ultra soft back tire off in 3 months and had zero money to buy a new one. Came around practically begging for a tire. I came up with a Metzler used (not quite to the wear marks) and was able to sell him it for 20 bucks. Told him his days of wheelies, burnouts and cornerslides were over unless he won a lottery.
Love the traction of new compounds but the wearrate has much to be desired. I made mistake of putting ultra sport Pirelis on my 95 GPZ1100. I spend way to much time straight up and down. Actually got flat ares of wear on my tires. Will go with sport touring compounds from now on.

i definatly agree, the tire wear on these wil be at best piss poor. but man they stick to every thing. i have been running the rear tire for about 2 years so far (bike has really been only on the road for 1 year with this tire). i do a lot of cornering hard. i had the front end wash out once or twice with the old touring tire(never made for leaning and hard fast cornering), so had to do it this way.
i ride my bikes really hard, to say the least. mostly in the corners. that to me is where the fun is at.
